Fire Retardant Coating
?MRO 5001 ? KF 600? is a one part non-flammable water based coating similar in appearance to ordinary latex base paint for protecting electric power cables & junction boxes against ignition & propagation of fire.
Applications
By using ?MRO 5001 ? KF 600? one can create fire break/ non-fire zones along the cable runs:
Vertical cable runs should be protected by coating the entire length @ minimum DFT of 2 mm.
Horizontal cable runs should be coated at a length of 1.5 meter after every interval of 6 meters @ minimum DFT of 1.6 mm.
Exposed cable channels should be protected on all sides even underneath. Apply a good opaque coat to the entire exposed part of the cable sheath. Spray gaps and spaces generously so that material can run into them. When calculating amount required, surface curvature of cable must be taken into account.

Dripping or dropping of burning cable fragments is limited in amount and time depending on the kind and intensity of the fire.
Escape routes and power supply can be used for a longer time.
Flames spread on cables and insulatng damage are delayed in the case of prolonged exposure to fire.
